When Chris and Margaret's daughter Lisa got married in 2007, she and husband Gavin Osborne asked that their friends and relatives made donations to HELPING instead of buying them wedding presents. The wedding gift fund provided enough money to build a nursery in Fass on the North Bank which has been named in their honour. Lisa and Gavin continue to devote their time and energy to HELPING and have made several visits to Gambia and the nursery itself.
The Osborne HELPING nursery was opened in 2008 and educates 80 youngsters in two purpose-built classrooms. A wall has been built to keep the children safe, painted with brightly coloured murals. Teachers are provided by HELPING along with a teaching assistant. In 2012, the children received a set of play equipment shipped out from the UK which has proved a great source of excitement. None of the youngsters had ever seen anything like it before.
